On a mission to support women in the hospitality industry.

From the new team behind The Light Bar, The Flowerhouse revives an old English pub in the heart of Marylebone

November 2021, The Flowerhouse Pub opened in the idyllic London neighbourhood of Marylebone. Situated on the prime corner of Chiltern Street, next door to Chiltern Firehouse, the revived old British pub introduces a new concept from Jo Jackson (previously Chief Creative Officer at MADE.COM) and the group behind The Light Bar.

With a mission to create a space where everyone feels welcome, The Flowerhouse has an unashamedly fresh and feminine interior. Working with female-led building contractors, designers and gardeners, we have retained original features of the pub, adorning the walls with flora and fauna throughout and signature bold wallpaper designed exclusively for Flowerhouse by print artist Kristjana S. Williams.

In Summer 2022, the team will launch an all-day food offering, a fresh, flexitarian twist on a classic pub menu. Further spaces are launching, including a beautifully designed Dining Room for private dining.

The Flowerhouse is our vision of a female-led public house, with a mission to empower women in the industry. The aim is to support women from all backgrounds and ages to get a step up on the hospitality ladder. From 2022, apprenticeships and training schemes will be offered for roles ranging from chefs and cocktail bartenders to floor staff and managers, with flexible working hours encouraged for mothers returning to work. Aiming to help balance a traditionally masculine-heavy industry.
